Habanero Mexican Cafe : ‘Great Quality and Price’

You can’t beat this place for quality of food for the price.  I typically get their chicken fajita’s and pay under $10 with tip.  Try sampling their variety of tacos ($1.75/each) to get a good sampling of their food.

Their salsa is some of the better that I’ve had a restaurants, a little bit of spice, but something you can eat a lot of.

It’s small, so you may have to wait in line.  It’s worth the wait though.

Mana

Today was a sad day for me here.  I took my cat, Mana, to the SPCA.  I had finally reached my breaking point with her agressive behaviour.  It was also the best route that I could find for her possibly to be adopted by someone else.  I answered the questionaire about her as truthfully as I could, and I think that in and of itself may lead to her being euthanized.  That’s the worst part is that I don’t knor for sure.  I’m trying to not get too down, but it’s hard.  She was my pet for 8 years.  It’s hard to lose a pet that’s been with you for that long.

Here are a few pics of her.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Well it’s been a while since I posted on here, and it’s not under happy circumstances that I do.  I watched the AT&T Cotton Bowl yesterday with Texas Tech and Ole Miss.

While this year as a whole has been a great joy to watch, this game sort of summed up that we aren’t really ready to play with the big boys.  While I think offensively we can hold our own, our defense was out played from head to toe.

I think that the 2 biggest deficiencies that I see on our defense was speed and depth.  Both of which most SEC teams have.  We got worked over on the D Line.  There were linemen running like they were linebackers, and linebackers running like they were DB’s.   The next thing is that when we started subbing in players, we got into some situations where we had too many ineffective people on the field at the same time.  That may have worked against some lesser caliber teams, but not in a bowl game.  Our lack of quality depth really screwed us there.  Our D was markedly improved over years past in my opinion.  I think DC Ruffan McNeil did a great job all year, I’m really glad that we have him.

On the offensive offense.  We made some really bone headed plays on offense.  One in particular was the 4th and 4 QB sneak.  That was idiotic.  In post game interviews Coach Leach is taking the blame for it saying that he didn’t communicate it to Harrell that he wasn’t ever supposed to hike the ball only try to draw them offsides.  Well Harrell pretty much calls every play at the line.  He’s gotta know the situation and have enough sense to know that’s what TTU needed.  But alas…he didn’t.

I think my biggest disappointment was our much talked about O line getting dominated my Ole Miss’ D line.  It just looked like they were flat and didn’t have the motivation to be there.  Harrell was hit, bumped, hurried, etc all game long.  From previous experience we know that Graham doesn’t function well in that type of environment.  He’s not nearly as accurate and doesn’t make nearly as good of decisions.  While not all of it can be laid at the feet of the O line, a vast majority of it can be in my opinion.

Now on to Crabtree.  It was nice getting to see you in the Red and Black.  There is no logical way that he will be returning to TTU for his junior year.  If history repeats it self and has a sense of humor he will be drafted by the Detroit Lions with their first round selection.  Granted the new GM of the Lions would have to be looking for a lynch mob coming after him.  I really think he’ll be the top reciver selected in the NFL draft, probably around #4-#8.  Seattle looks like it will be a good fit for him at #4, but you never know how these things will work out.

All in all this has been one of the funnest season to watch TTU football.  But with more success comes greater expectations, and curbing your disappointments when the team doesn’t live up to those expectations come with the territory.  We have had the best season in Texas Tech history, but yet I feel like we should could have done more.  Such is life, and now it’s just a waiting game until Spring practices start again.
