Ray PierceEntertainment, Photography case, deal bluetooth, headphones, photos
This week seems to be the week of good deals. I ended up buying a couple of things even. Both of these were things that I had considered buying the past, but I just hadn’t pulled the trigger. With the prices as cheap as they were it was something I felt comfortable with even if both were busts.
I bought some new Motorola S805 Bluetooth DJ Headphones from Buy.com for just over $40 with shipping. I actually had a friend of mine, Mike, suggest them to me, but I wanted to make sure he used them for a bit and got a good feel for them. He was happy with them and for the price you couldn’t really beat that. Now I won’t be running over the cord, or wrapping it around the arm rest of the chair at work. And to top it off they can answer calls, has a recharger, an optional hard line, and a carrying case. Yeah me!
And then today I bought a new Aluminum Hard Case for Photo/Video Equipment from http://www.1saleaday.com for $16 with shipping. Should be a lot easier to ship/travel with my camera equipment now. This also marks something special, one of the many hundreds thousands of links my Mom sends me was useful. Thanks Mom. I know of few friends that were looking for the same type of thing so I called them up and told them about it as well. I think Eric actually bought a couple as well.

Ray PierceWebsite comments spam, Word Press, wordpress
I love having comments on our posts. It reassures me that people are actually looking at the site. If you see something you like, feel free to leave a comment. If you see something you don’t like leave a comment. If something is funny, or interesting leave a comment. If you are family or friends definitely leave a comment. It’s an easy way for us to know people are using the site.
On the downside though, I’ve noticed a few comments from people over the past couple of weeks that are getting flagged as spam by the Akismet plugin. I’ve not been really diligent about going through the spam filter as often I should. I’ll try to be diligent with the checking, I promise.

Ray PierceWebsite search, web page, Website, widget, Word Press, wordpress
I finally got a search engine setup for the site that actually returns results that are useful. The built in search for Word Press is less than desirable to say the least.
So now in the right hand sidebar, you will now to a Google Search widget. Yeah! Granted we have to view a few ads during the searches, but if you click on them, then I get money to run this site. So indirectly you want to click on the ads (after you’ve looked at all of our cool stuff of course).
I’ve setup the search so that it only returns information from http://digitalpierce.com. Still not sure how to remove the Social Media stuff on the results page yet, but I think I can live with it for the time being.
If any of you techie type people are interested, this is how I did it. The article needs updated for the newer versions of Word Press, but essentially it’s the same, or you can at least figure it out.

Ray PiercePhotography bluebell, Eustoma grandiflorum, flowers, Lake Stamford, purple, wildflower
I was at Lake Stamford for Father’s Day weekend to meet up with my parents. While I was there, I found an area of Lake Stamford that was covered in Purple flowers. I think I’ve figured out that they are Bluebell’s (Eustoma grandiflorum). If anyone wants to confirm this I would grateful.
This area was on the far side of the lake from my parents place on the lake. So I had them let me off the boat so I could take some pictures. I think this was really my first time I went off out of the way that required a trek to get a picture. While that was a good thing it was also a bad thing. I got several chigger bites and then ended up getting into some fire ants while waiting on my parents return in the boat. Nothing bad, just annoying and itchy.
I made a huge mistake while I was taking this pictures. I had went out the night before and took a few casual shots of my parents near dusk and adjusted my ISO to 800. Well I forgot to change it back the following morning and failed to check to see what it was set at. So the result is a lot grainier pictures than they ever should have been. I was really disappointed with myself for doing it.
